Just a place to share my random shower thoughts
I went to Hawaii for the first time, a little northernmost island called Kauai. Gorgeous unobstructed view from the cottage we rented. Just feet away from the beach and pacific ocean. The first morning, I was woken up by roosters (they are everywhere!) , sat on the porch and saw little green lizards climbing on a coconut tree and trying to court a female.
Just like that, I sat there and watched everything that's happening around me. The sound of the Pacific ocean, to me, is like an ancient voice humming since the dawn of time. Ten days without much screen time. Very quickly, you can get back your ability to focus that is slowly chipped away by our modern life, and start seeing, hearing, tasting, feeling things again. Yes, in this day and age, we oughta be tuned in to stay relevant (Watching Netflix while browsing social media on your phone at the same time, anyone?). However, you also can’t do the best job when your brain is turned on all the time. A few habits I have adopted over time:
Unplug, regularly. Get out of your house. Or better, get out of town once a while. Get closer to Mother Nature. You are not doing anyone favors by dulling your system with too much work, too little sleep, and a lack of adventure and fun.
