Strange times we’re in. COVID-19 is throwing everything into chaos. In NYS, Governor Cuomo announced that non-essential businesses will be closed starting Sunday 3/22 night at 8 p.m. For many businesses, the clock is ticking. Without drastic action or substantial cash flow, they’re going under within a month or two. And layoffs. ...while some of you are panic-buying thousands of rolls of toilet paper (be honest ^_^). The pandemic is impacting everyone, industries are suffering, stock price crashing, and recession looms. Sometimes, I wonder how many life-changing crises we experience in a lifetime?
There is no doubt in my mind that things are going to get worse before they get better. “Your old road is rapidly aging. Please, get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand…” How we want to use the moment is up to us. There ARE opportunities. As an individual, you can pick up a new skill, get creative with making yourself more valuable, and reduce unnecessary spending (Marie Kondo style). As a business owner, you can rethink your business model, do you see an opportunity and capitalize on it? Could you transition to online selling (https://www.emarketer.com/content/coronavirus-covid19-boost-ecommerce-stores-amazon-retail) or add delivery services? Over the next few months you could sit at home, drink, watch TV. Beer and Netflix can only help you for so long. OR be ready when the crisis is over.
